  7. WHAT IS IT?
  8.  
  9. WebLord is not an HTML editor!
  10.  
  11. WebLord is a powerful web site construction and maintenance tool. It is
  12. designed especially to enable creation and maintenance of large sites.
  13. WebLord excels at reducing the obscure clutter, repetitive references,
  14. and common typographical errors that are the lot of the designer who is
  15. stuck with less capable tools.
  16.  
  17. Many so-called website construction tools attempt to hold the designer's
  18. hand by hiding the HTML and presenting what they bill as a WYSIWYG (What
  19. You See Is What You Get) interface. WebLord elegantly side-steps this
  20. misguided mixing of markup (HTML) and layout (DTP) concepts, and
  21. transcends the usual focus on merely editing the HTML code rather than
  22. providing the needed tools to maintain an entire site.

  24. WebLord constructs pages from patterns of objects. Objects are built
  25. from other objects, and object properties are inherited through the
  26. chain of references, thus providing context-specific construction of
  27. output. An object can be as simple as a string literal, an image
  28. reference, a paragraph of text, or the contents of an entire file,
  29. dynamically generated through any program that WebLord is told to
  30. invoke.

  48.     ability to maintain the site,

  52.   - External software can perform pre- and post-processing on pages,
  53.     even upload completed pages directly to your ISP (internet service
  54.     provider).
